LANCASTER, PA – The Johns Hopkins women's track and field team has swept the Centennial Conference athlete of the week awards for the third consecutive week, as announced by the conference this morning.
Harrinee Senthilkumar is the track athlete of the week while
Erika Ezumba takes home field athlete of the week honors — it is both athletes' first times winning the award this season.
Senthilkumar was the second of Hopkins' four winners at last Friday's NYU DIII Invitational, taking home the top spot in the 800. The junior's final time of 2:15.43 served as a new personal best, is the second-fastest time in the Centennial Conference and ranks as the 18
th-fastest time in Division III this season. She joins
Lauren Phillips,
Mackenzie Setton and
Sara Stephenson on the list of Hopkins student-athletes to win the weekly award.
Ezumba was equally impressive at the NYU DIII Invitational, finishing second in the shot put with a toss of 12.42 meters. The throw was a new personal-best for the sophomore and ranks as the second-best throw in the Centennial Conference this season. Ezumba joins
Victoria Kadiri as the only other Hopkins athlete to win the honor this year, with the senior having won it three times.
The Blue Jays are back in action to compete in the David Hemery Invitational and Big Apple Invitational.
