FAIRFAX, VA – The Johns Hopkins men's track & field team competed at the Dalton Ebanks Invitational this weekend, facing off against several Division I programs in their second action of the season.
Peter Lim kicked off the meet on a high note in the pole vault, finishing third in the open division after clearing 4.06 meters. On Day 2 it was Braga concluding the Jays's field events in the discus, launching the weight 42.80 meters to set a personal-best mark by over five meters and claim 14th.
Andrew Myers was a top-15 finisher in the 5000, narrowly missing out on a personal-best with his time of 15:09.59 before Hopkins found a bit of success in the sprints.
Fisayo Omonije was the Jays' highest finisher in the 400, crossing the line in 50.82 to take 17
th, with
Alex Colletti (28
th – 51.94) and
Evan Kelly (29
th – 52.09) coming in soon after the junior. In the 100 it was
Carter Chui taking 19
th with his time of 11.19 before Omonije claimed a top-30 finish once again in the 800, finishing 29
th in a field of 89 competitors with his time of 1:57.36.
The highlights of Day 2 concluded with the 1500, in which a pair of Blue Jays runners finished in the top 15.
Kenny Wanlass was the top finisher for Hopkins coming in at 12
th with a time of 3:55.96, followed closely by
Connor Oiler, whose final time of 3:56.74 earned the sophomore 13
th.
Hopkins is back in action next weekend to compete at both the Stevenson Invitational and Bucknell Classic.
