BALTIMORE, MD – Johns Hopkins junior third baseman
Shawn Steuerer has been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Division III Academic All-America First Team it was announced today.
Steuerer is the 32
nd CSC (formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-American in Johns Hopkins baseball history. He is the 15
th first team selection overall, and second consecutive. Steuerer is the only player in the Centennial Conference to earn Academic All-America honors.
Johns Hopkins' 32 Academic All-Americans are the most of any baseball team in the nation – at any level – since the CSC/CoSIDA first selected a team in baseball in 1970.
Steuerer is majoring in economics and carries a 3.72 cumulative GPA. He is a two-time D3Baseball.com All-American and has earned a combined five all-region honors from the ABCA and D3Baseball.com. Steuerer has also earned All-Centennial Conference honors in each of his first three seasons.
Steuerer led Johns Hopkins in batting average (.363), runs (57) and was tied for first in hits (57). He also ranked second in home runs (17) and RBIs (52). He was tied for first in the Centennial Conference in runs and ranked second in home runs and RBIs and third in hits. Steuerer ranks second in program history with 42 career home runs and became just the sixth player in school history to reach 200 career hits.
Steuerer led Johns Hopkins to a 35-11 record, an 18th Centennial Conference Championship and 26th NCAA Tournament appearance in 2024.
