Celebrating its 35th year, the Campbell Trophy® recognizes an individual as the absolute best football scholar-athlete in the nation for his combined academic success, football performance and exemplary leadership.  Harvey is one of 44 nominees in Division III and is the only nominee from the Centennial Conference.

Harvey is in his second season as the Blue Jays' starting quarterback.  He is 14-2 in 16 career starts and is 351-of-518 (.680) for 4,518 yards with 48 touchdown passes against just eight interceptions in his career.  In addition to his passing statistics, he has rushed for 860 yards and 14 touchdowns in 32 career games played.

Last season, Harvey set Johns Hopkins single-season records for touchdown passes (36) and overall touchdowns (46) while throwing for 3,297 yards; he was also second on the team in rushing yards (627).  His yardage (3,297) and completion (250) totals in 2023 both rank fifth on JHU's single-season lists, while his 362 attempts rank eighth.

Harvey currently ranks 10th in school history in career passing yards and completions and tied for 11th in attempts.  He also ranks sixth in career touchdown passes and second in career rushing touchdowns by a quarterback (14).

Academically, Harvey is majoring in economics with a minor in applied mathematics and statistics and carries a 3.73 cumulative grade point average.  He was a College Sports Communicator's (CSC) Academic All-District selection in 2023 and has also twice been named to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll.  During his first season as a starter, he posted a perfect 4.0 GPA during the fall semester of 2023.

A Second Team All-Centennial Conference selection and a Third Team D3football.com All-Region 2 honoree in 2023, Harvey was also named to the Academic All-Centennial Team last season; student-athletes who earn All-Centennial Conference honors and a spot on the Centennial Academic Honor Roll are also named to the Academic All-Centennial Team.

Harvey led Johns Hopkins to a 12-1 record, a Centennial Conference title and a trip to the NCAA Quarterfinals last season.  The 12 wins tied the Johns Hopkins single-season record and the Blue Jays were ranked eighth in the final AFCA and D3football.com Polls in 2023.

A two-time team captain, Harvey has served as a math tutor for a local middle school student through the PLAN Learning Center in Baltimore since January 2023 and is a member of the Johns Hopkins Game Operations Team that manages home athletic events on the Homewood campus.  He was elected as a captain for the 2023 season prior to ever starting a game at Johns Hopkins.

This year will mark the 66th year of the NFF National Scholar-Athlete Awards Presented by Fidelity Investments, which began in 1959, and the 35th year of the Campbell Trophy®, which was added to the program in 1990. The NFF will announce 12-15 finalists on Oct. 23, and each of finalist will receive an $18,000 postgraduate scholarship as a member of the 2024 NFF National Scholar-Athlete Class Presented by Fidelity Investments.

One of the finalists will be named the winner of the 35th Campbell Trophy® during the 66th NFF Annual Awards Dinner Presented by Las Vegas on Dec. 10 and have his postgraduate scholarship increased to $25,000.

The 203 semifinalists have been nominated by their schools as the best all-around student-athlete on their respective football teams.
