LANCASTER, PA – The Johns Hopkins men's and women's track teams swept the Centennial Conference Track Athlete of the Week awards after outstanding performances over the weekend. The Blue Jays competed at both the Dr. Sander Scorcher and Widener Winter Evening Invite on Friday and then the Dr. Sander Scorcher on Saturday.
Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week
Annie Huang
Huang turned in the nation's top time in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:09.41 at the Dr. Sander Scorcher at the Armory in New York. Her adjusted time when accounting for a banked track is 2:10.90, which is just under two seconds faster than the next best time in the nation in the event this season. Huang's time ranks second on the Centennial all-time list.
Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week
Distance Medley Relay Team
The Blue Jay Distance Medley Relay Team of
Aidan Tomov,
Fisayo Omonije,
Evan Kelly and
Rowan Cassidy jumped to the top of the national rankings in the event with a time of 10:10.85 at the Dr. Sander Scorcher at the New York Armory. The team's adjusted time when accounting for a banked track is 10:19.16, which is more than four seconds faster than the nation's second-best time through events of January 26.
Hopkins returns to action on Friday, January 31 at the Patriot Games, hosted by George Mason.
