Isphording Named Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Week

Senior Anchored Defense That Posted Two Shutouts

LANCASTER, PA – Johns Hopkins senior Annie Isphording has been named the Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Week after leading the Blue Jays to a pair of shutouts it was announced today.  Isphording is the second consecutive Blue Jay to earn the award as classmate Ella Macko was honored last week.

Isphording anchored a Blue Jay defense that didn't allow a goal in victories against Mary Washington (2-0) and Bryn Mawr (5-0) last week.  The Blue Jays held the Eagles to just five shots in the big non-conference victory, then held the Owls shotless to pick up the Centennial Conference victory.  This marked the first time JHU has held a team shotless since September 21, 2024, when the Blue Jays held Muhlenberg without a shot.

Isphording has started all 12 games and has logged a team-high 977 minutes in helping the Blue Jays to an 8-3-1 record, including a 3-1 mark in Centennial Conference play.  The Johns Hopkins defense has four consecutive shutouts to its credit and has allowed just eight goals in 12 games.

Johns Hopkins will return to action on Wednesday, October 8 when the Blue Jays travel to Gettysburg (5-3-2, 2-1 CC) for a Centennial Conference matchup against the Bullets (6 pm).
