LANCASTER, PA – Johns Hopkins senior
Jacob Pomykata has been named the Centennial Conference Wrestler of the Week it was announced today. Pomykata is the first Blue Jay to earn the award this season and this is the first time in his career that he has been honored by the Centennial.

Pomykata won the 285-pound weight class and was named the Most Outstanding Wrestler at the Shenandoah Invitational on Sunday (November 15). Pomykata went 4-0 to claim the first individual title of his career. His four wins included a technical fall, two wins by decision and a pin in the championship bout against Alvernia's
Owen Reber. Reber is ranked fourth in the NWCA Region 3 rankings at 285. He is the first Johns Hopkins wrestler at this weight class to win and in-season tournament in the last 15 seasons.

With his effort at Shenandoah, Pomykata improved to 10-5 this season. Among his 10 victories on the year are seven pins and one technical fall and his victory against Reber in the title match at Shenandoah was the 50
th victory of his career.

Johns Hopkins will return to action on Saturday, November 22 when the Blue Jays travel to Muhlenberg to participate in the Scotty Wood Invitational.
