LANCASTER, PA – Following its 17
th consecutive Centennial Conference Championship, the Johns Hopkins women's cross country team had several athletes garner All-Conference recognition.
Carter Brotherton and
Mia Kotler headlined the awards after being named the Cross Country Athlete and Rookie of the Year, with
Bobby Van Allen's staff also earning the Coaching Staff of the Year for the fifth straight season.
Brotherton was named the Cross Country Athlete of the Year after capturing the individual Centennial title as she crossed in 21:18.1. She becomes the first sophomore to win the Centennial individual title since Johns Hopkins
Felicia Koerner grabbed gold in 2016, and is the third runner in conference history to have won both Runner and Rookie of the Year, joining Hopkins alums
Hannah Oneda and
Tess Meehan to accomplish this feat.
Kotler collected Rookie of the Year honors after being the only freshman to place in the top 14 at the conference championships with her fourth-place finish, crossing the line in 21:40.6. She is also the 27
th freshman in conference history to earn first team honors.
After leading his troops to the program's 17
th straight conference title, head coach
Bobby Van Allen and his staff were named Coaching Staff of the Year for the fifth consecutive season.
In total, the Blue Jays had six All-Conference First Team Selections. Joining Brotherton and Kotler were

th | 21:47.20).
The Jays added four Second-Team athletes in
Elena Blodnikar (8
th | 21:51.40),
Cooper Brotherton (9
th | 21:54.00),
Aisling Callahan (13
th | 22:14.80) and
Emma Kothari (14
th | 22:27.00). Additionally,
Evangeline Dunckley was named to the All-Sportsmanship Team.
The Blue Jays return to action on Saturday, November 8, at the ECAC Division III South Championships as they look to defend their title and capture a third-straight team championship.
