FAIRFAX, VA – Johns Hopkins earned three wins and 10 top-five finishes to wrap up the George Mason Patriot Games on Saturday.
Sebastian Tangelson,
Lucas Rackers and
Wech Ring each grabbed a win for the Blue Jays.
Tangelson totaled a personal best 4,554 points to grab the top spot in the heptathlon. He also turned in PRs in five of the events and won the 1000m (2:51.21).
Owen Takahashi finished in fifth place with 3,903 points. He posted PRs in the 1000m (2:58.01) and shot put (10.84m) to finish in third and fifth, respectively.
Rackers raced to a win in the 1000m with a PR of 2:27.10.
Aiden Tomov crossed in 2:28.96, a personal best, to take third place.
Fisayo Omonije then took ninth place with a PR of 2:33.81, just six-hundredths of a second out of eighth place.
Ring won the high jump with a leap of 1.90m, a personal best, while
Ethan Oluwole placed fifth with a jump of 1.76m.
Peter Lim and
Seth Wyzykowski took fourth and fifth in the pole vault, respectively. Lim posted a height of 4.13m for fourth while Wyzykowski finished in a tie for fifth with a height of 3.98m.
Ring and Oluwole traded places in the long jump, as Oluwole took seventh (5.95m) and Ring placed eighth (5.92m). In addition,
Maxie Lin finished in 10
th place with a jump of 5.80m.
In the 3000m,
Cassidy Rowan and
Connor Oiler went two-three, finishing just seven-tenths of a second apart. Rowan crossed with a PR of 8:30.17, followed by Oiler in 8:30.87.
Andrew Myers then finished in eighth place in 8:43.39.
Colin Harte finished in ninth place in the 400m with a time of 53.23. He also placed eighth in the 200m in 23.32. Both times were personal bests.
Hopkins returns to action on Friday, February 7 at the Fast Track Invitational in Staten Island, NY.
