BALTIMORE, MD – The Johns Hopkins women's fencing team had eight Blue Jays selected to the United States Fencing Coaches Association (USFCA) All-Region teams it was announced.
Josephine Chang was named First Team All-Mid-Atlantic/South while
Rosy Cepero and
Lauren Prieur were named Honorable Mention.
Ameera Ebrahim,
Mariela Abramson,
Bethany Lee,
Adele Dai and
Maddie Huang were named to the Division III All-Region teams. Hopkins has now produced 27 All-Region selections since the inception of the award in 2022. JHU's eight all-region selections this year are the most of any Division III school.
Chang earns USFCA All-Region honors for the third time in her career. She is 74-32 on the season and won the EWFC and NIWFA Sabre titles before finishing third at the NCAA Regional. Chang earned a berth to the NCAA Championships next week in State College, PA.
Cepero also earns all-region honors for the third straight year after going 92-50 in the Foil this season. She placed fifth at the EWFC Championship and then 11
th at the regional earlier this month. Prieur was named all-region for the second straight year. She went 66-36 on the season and was second on the Sabre squad in wins. She finished in 11
th place at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic/South Regional.
Lee garners all-region honors for the second time in her career. She finished second on the Foil squad with 64 wins, going 64-34 on the season. She placed seventh at the EWFC Championships and 21
st at the NCAA Regional.
Ebrahim, Abramson, Dai and Huang each earn all-region honors for the first time. Ebrahim and Abramson tied for the squad lead with 50 wins each in the Epee. Ebrahim placed 28
th at the regional championship while Abramson finished in 29
th place. Huang finished in third on the Sabre squad with 43 wins and finished in 26
th place at the NCAA Regional. Dai took 21
st place at the regional and finished with a 32-10 record.
