BALTIMORE, MD – The Johns Hopkins women's track and field team competed on Friday, sending a contingent to the River Hawk Multi, the Mid-Atlantic Track and Field JUCO Invite and the Duke Invitational.
River Hawk Multi
Claudia Ouimet earned a second-place finish in the Heptathlon, scoring the sixth-most points in program history (4,448). She capped off the event with three top-five performances, setting personal bests in the javelin (fourth | 29.42m) and 800m (fifth | 2:36.82), while also securing second place in the long jump (5.27m).
Jaclyn Donoho joined Ouimet in the record books, finishing seventh overall with the ninth-most points in school history (4,109). Donoho achieved three top-10 finishes, including eighth in the long jump (4.80m), sixth in the 800m (2:36.82 - PR), and a first-place finish in the javelin with a personal-best throw of 31.93m.
Abigail Lovelace was the third Blue Jay to place in the overall top-10, finishing ninth with 3,913 points. She recorded personal-bests in the javelin (11
th | 24.54) and the 800m (third | 2:30.67).
Mid-Atlantic Track & Field JUCO Invitational
The Blue Jays dominated the hammer throw, sweeping the top three spots.
Erika Ezumba led the charge with a first-place finish and improving her school record with a personal-best 47.69m throw.
Phoebe Williams followed closely behind, improving her second-best mark in program history to 47.17m for a second-place finish.
Kellen Ievers rounded out the top three with a 33.10m throw.
In the javelin, Hopkins claimed the top two spots, with Williams earning first place (33.62m) and
Cassidy Brown finishing second with a personal-best 25.35m throw.
The Blue Jays also swept the pole vault, as Brown finished first with a 2.74m mark, followed by
Clarissa Newman in second (2.74m), Sarah-Caulley Soto in third (2.45m), and
Cassidy Woodham in fourth (2.30m).
In the long jump, Hopkins secured three of the top five positions, led by
Chloe Zhang's first-place finish with a leap of 5.16m. Brown took fourth (4.02m), while Woodham finished fifth (3.86m).
Zhang also qualified for tomorrow's 100m dash final, securing a seventh-place finish in the prelims with a time of 13.05.
Duke Invitational
Both
Mirra Klimov and
Ellie Lewis competed in the 100m dash, finishing 35
th (12.27) and 66
th (12.65), respectively.
The Blue Jays are back in action Saturday, April 11, for day two of the Duke Invitational and the first day of the two-day Bucknell Invitational. Action in Durham, NC is scheduled to begin at 12:50 PM in the 800m, with action scheduled to begin in Lewisburg, PA at 11:30 AM in the 800m.
