PHILADELPHIA, PA – The Johns Hopkins men's track and field team delivered a series of standout performances on the second day of the Penn Relays, highlighted by two school records and multiple personal bests.
Junior
Connor Oiler led the way, shattering the school record in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 8:56.16. The mark not only stands as a personal best and program record but also ranks as the seventh-fastest time in the nation this season.
Continuing the momentum, the 4x400-meter relay team of
Alex Colletti,
Josh Lee,
Samson Dessalines and
Spencer Ye posted the fastest time in program history, finishing in 3:16.39.
In the 5000-meter run, Tommy Li turned in a personal-best 14:27.47, the fourth-fastest time in school history.
To cap off the evening, the 4x100-meter relay squad featuring Colletti, Ye, Lee and
Carter Chui qualified for Saturday's final with a time of 42.38.
The Blue Jays are back in action Saturday, April 26, for the final day of competition at the Penn Relays, with action scheduled to resume at 5:10 PM with the 4x800-meter relay.
