Kothari, Senthilkumar, Setton and Huang Shatter 4x800m National Record at Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA, PA – The Johns Hopkins women's track and field team capped off the final day of the Penn Relays on Saturday with an extraordinary performance, setting both a national and school record in the 4x800-meter relay.

The dynamic quartet of Emma Kothari, Harrinee Senthilkumar, Mackenzie Setton and Annie Huang made history by recording the fastest 4x800-meter relay time ever in NCAA Division III. Their remarkable 8:48.94 finish surpassed the previous national record of 8:53.04 set by The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) in 2009. This time also marks the fastest 4x800-meter relay in Johns Hopkins history, earning the team a fourth-place finish at the prestigious Penn Relays.

The Blue Jays return to action Friday, May 2, at the Centennial Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships hosted by Ursinus College in Collegeville, PA.
