BALTIMORE, MD – The Johns Hopkins men's track and field team wrapped up the two-day Dalton Ebanks Invitational on Saturday, hosted by George Mason. A multitude of Blue Jays took part in record-setting performances over the final day of the two-day meet.
Colletti's 10.50 in the 100m gave the sophomore a fifth-place finish in the event. His time is the fastest time ever recorded in Hopkins history, however, because the wind index was above a 2.0, it cannot be used as a school record. He was joined in the event by
Carter Chui (11.17) and
Chance Simpson (11.31), both of whom also set personal bests.
Colletti also played a key role in several of the fastest relay performances in Hopkins history. In the 4x100m relay, he helped secure a fifth-place finish alongside
Josh Lee,
Spencer Ye and Chui as they posted the fourth-fastest time in program history with a 42.38-second finish. Another Hopkins team, consisting of
Colin Harte,
Diego Cintron-De Leon,
James Borkman and Simpson finished eighth with a time of 43.61.
In the 4x400m relay, Colletti, Lee,
Michael Kruppa and
Samson Dessalines etched their names in the record books, running the second-fastest time in school history crossing the line in 3:19.27.
Finally,
Connor Oiler capped off the record-breaking performances by clocking the 10th-fastest time in program history in the 1500m, running a personal-best 3:55.52. Oiler was joined by Tommy Li (3:56.34), Ani Krishnan (4:02.25), and Matt Kelly (4:07.29), all of whom also recorded personal-best times.
The Blue Jays are back in action Saturday, April 12, for the two-day Bucknell Invitational in Lewisburg, PA.
