NEW ORLEANS, LA – Johns Hopkins'
Hassaan Stamps has been named the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NCAA Division III Women's Mid-Atlantic Outdoor Track Assistant Coach of the Year it was announced recently. The selection is the first at Johns Hopkins for Stamps, who recently completed his first year on head coach
Bobby Van Allen's staff.

Stamps' selection marks the 13
th time since the 2010-11 academic year that a Johns Hopkins assistant coach has been honored by the USTFCCCA with a Coach of the Year honor, including the third time for outdoor track.

"I would like to thank my athletes as they did all the heavy lifting and repeatedly answered the bell throughout the season," Stamps noted. "I also want to thank Director of Athletics Jen Baker and coach Van Allen for providing me this amazing opportunity; Johns Hopkins is a special place and in moments like these I feel like I am doing my part to continue to build on the incredible history and tradition of the Blue Jay track and field program."

Stamps and his Blue Jay sprinters helped fuel Hopkins' run to an unprecedented 15
th consecutive Centennial Conference Outdoor Track title as his group accounted for 99 of the team's 338.5 points at the championship. His athletes own the top ranking in four events – 100, 200, 400 and 4×400 relay – and two of Hopkins' three All-Americans at the recent NCAA Championships were members of Stamps' sprint team.
