Avery Clapp has been named the Centennial Conference Swimmer of the Week. This is his first conference honor and the first this season for the Blue Jays.
Clapp recorded two of the top backstroke times in Centennial history during JHU's dual meet victory over Swarthmore last Friday. He won the 100 backstroke in 48.98 seconds and the 200 backstroke in 1:47.60. His 200 time ranks fourth all-time in the CC and 15th in Division III this season, while his 100 time is fifth all-time in the CC and 18th on the national list. Clapp also contributed to winning 200 medley and 400 freestyle relays in the dual meet victory.
Hopkins returns to the pool on Saturday, January 31 as the Blue Jays host the William & Mary Tribe.
