Reagan O'Brien and
Ava Angello have been named to the Nike Lacrosse Preseason All-America Teams it was announced this morning. O'Brien earned first team honors and Angello was named to the third team. This is the second preseason All-America honor for each.
O'Brien returns after earning consensus First Team All-America and Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year honors last season. She broke the NCAA single season record with 103 career turnovers, besting the 25-year-old record by 21. She ranks 14
th in NCAA history in career caused turnovers (166). O'Brien led the Big Ten and ranked ninth in the nation with 65 ground balls. She also tallied 17 draw controls, five assists and one goal. She became the program's
Last season, Angello earned Honorable Mention All-America honors from both USA Lacrosse and Inside Lacrosse in addition to First Team All-Big Ten. She ranked second in the Big Ten in points (90) and third in goals (65). She ranked 20
th in the nation in points and 17
th in goals. Angello had 17 multi-goal games and scored four or more goals six times. She ranks 10
th in school history in career points (211) and is eighth in career goals (158).
Hopkins opens the season on Saturday, February 7 at Liberty in a rematch of the 2025 NCAA First Round. Opening draw is slated for 12:00 pm.
