th-ranked Mary Washington Saturday for its seventh straight win. The Blue Jays improve to 8-3 on the season while the Eagles slip to 6-3.
Hopkins swept the doubles matches to head into singles with a 1-0 lead.
Ava Li and
Kamila Wong dropped just two games in their win over Addison Felts and Natalie Kim at one.
Claire Loftus and
Sahana Madala won a tight 7-6 (3) decision versus Isabella Rotaru and Sarah Sandoval Banuelos at two. And at three,
Karah Li and
Aubrey Zhou beat Jacey Copeland and Sophia Broomall, 6-3.
In singles, the Blue Jays won four of the six matches in straight sets. Langer lost just one game in her win over Kim at three.
Lia Melvin and
Isabel He nearly turned the same trick, dropping just two games each in their wins at one and four. Zhou also won in straight sets, winning 6-1, 6-3 versus Natalie Howell at six. Loftus and
Karah Li prevailed in three sets to win at two and five to complete the shutout. Loftus beat Rotaru 7-5, 2-6, 1-0 (1) and
Karah Li won 2-6, 6-1, 6-3 over Broomall.
Hopkins returns to the court on Sunday, March 29 as the Blue Jays take on the second-ranked Washington University Bears. The match is scheduled for a 10:00 am start.
