BALTIMORE, MD – Johns Hopkins senior Jacob Harris and junior Clay Hartje have been named to the D3Baseball.com Team of the Week following a stellar week at the plate for both student-athletes, announced Wednesday. The honor marks the first of their career and makes them the second and third Blue Jay to earn national recognition this season.
 
Harris, the Centennial Player of the Week, powered the Blue Jays to a 4-0 week with wins over No. 15 Messiah, Cairn and a pair of victories against Hamilton College. The second baseman went 9-for-16 (.563) over the four-game stretch, posting an absurd 2.025 OPS. He launched four home runs — including two grand slams — added a double, drove in 12 runs, scored 11 times, drew three walks and stole a base. Harris recorded a multi-hit performance in all four games.
 
Against Messiah, he broke the game open with a three-run homer to cap an eight-run first inning. Against Cairn, he smashed a leadoff home run in the bottom of the first. In back-to-back games against Hamilton, the senior delivered grand slams in each contest, putting both games out of reach and halting any comeback attempts.
 
Hartje was instrumental in the Blue Jays' success. The catcher led the team with a .643 batting average (9-for-14) and a 1.632 OPS across four games. He added a triple, a home run, nine RBIs, three walks and two stolen bases. He recorded multiple hits in three of the four games, highlighted by a four-hit performance against Hamilton that included a triple, two RBIs and a walk.
 
Johns Hopkins returns to action Wednesday, March 4, hosting Mary Washington at Babb Field at Stromberg Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
