NEW YORK, NY – The Johns Hopkins women's indoor track and field team competed on the first day of the AARTFC Indoor Championships at The Armory on Friday, posting a pair of marks that rank among the best in program history in the 4x400-meter relay and the long jump.
The 4x400-meter relay team of
Gabrielle Moore,
Madison Moore,
Lianne Saussy and
Lorna Arcese placed fourth with a time of 3:54.71. The mark ranks as the fourth-fastest in program history.
Chloe Zhang also recorded one of the top performances in program history in the long jump. She posted a personal-best leap of 5.70 meters to finish third in the event, a mark that ranks third all-time at Johns Hopkins.
In the 60-meter preliminary round,
Mirra Klimov qualified for Saturday's final after clocking a time of 7.75.
Clarissa Newman rounded out the Blue Jays' competitors on the day with a sixth-place finish in the pole vault, clearing 3.57 meters.
Johns Hopkins returns to competition on Saturday, March 7 for the final day of the AARTFC Indoor Championships, as well as the Tufts Final Qualifier.
