BALTIMORE, MD – The Johns Hopkins men's indoor track and field team wrapped up competition Saturday at the AARTFC Indoor Championships at The Armory and the Tufts Final Qualifier, posting several of the fastest marks in the nation this season and in program history.
At the AARTFC Indoor Championships in New York,
Oluwademilade Adeniran highlighted the Blue Jays' performances with an impressive showing in the triple jump. Adeniran placed second with a personal-best leap of 14.56 meters, which ranks as the 24
th-best mark in Division III this season and the second-best performance in program history.
Sebastian Tangelson represented Johns Hopkins in the heptathlon and delivered a strong all-around performance. After the completion of all seven events, Tangelson finished second with 4,909 points — the fourth-highest total in program history. His performance was highlighted by a second-place finish in the 1,000-meter run with a personal-best time of 2:42.99.
At the Tufts Final Qualifier,
Matt Kelly posted one of the fastest times in the nation this season in the 5,000 meters, clocking a 14:24.89 to finish third. The time ranks 32
nd in Division III this season and stands as the fourth-fastest mark in program history.
Ani Krishnan also delivered a strong performance in the 800 meters, placing fifth with a personal-best time of 1:53.66. The mark ranks 78
th nationally this season and fifth in school history.
The distance medley relay team of
Shrey Chettiar,
Alex Colletti,
Fisayo Omonije, and
Brady Ott finished 13
th with a time of 10:00.82, the fifth-fastest performance in program history.
Colletti capped off the day for Hopkins at the Tufts Final Qualifier with a first-place finish in the 200-meter dash, crossing the line in 21.83.
Johns Hopkins will now await the NCAA selection announcement on Sunday, March 8 at 7:00 p.m. to determine which student-athletes have qualified for the 2026 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships, set to take place March 13-14 in Birmingham, Alabama.
