BALTIMORE, MD – The Johns Hopkins men's track and field team concluded competition Saturday across the Paul Donahue Invitational, Navy Spring Invitational and Morgan State Legacy Meet, totaling 20 top-25 finishes and several marks that rank among the best in program history and across Division III this season.
At the Paul Donahue Invitational,
Ani Krishnan recorded the top finish among Blue Jays across the three meets. He placed second in the 1,500 meters with a time of 3:54.72, which ranks 57
th nationally.
Rowan Cassidy also competed in the event, finishing 16
th in 3:59.67.
Peter Murray turned in another strong performance at the same meet, placing third in the 800 meters with a time of 1:53.39. That mark ranks 65
th nationally and stands as the sixth-fastest time in program history.
Ted Richards rounded out competition in Chester with a 16
th-place finish in the high jump, clearing 1.73 meters.
At the Navy Spring Invitational,
Sebastian Tangelson was the lone Blue Jay competitor and delivered a top-five finish in the decathlon. Tangelson placed fourth overall with 6,613 points, the second-highest total in program history. His performance was highlighted by a second-place finish in the 1,500 meters (4:38.96).
At the Morgan State Legacy Meet,
Oluwademilade Adeniran and
Aidan Rothstein each posted top-five finishes to lead Hopkins. Adeniran placed fourth in the triple jump with a mark of 14.65 meters, while Rothstein also finished fourth in the pole vault with a personal-best clearance of 4.32 meters, which ranks 10
th in program history.
Alexander Williams led a trio of Blue Jays in the discus with a seventh-place finish and a personal-best throw of 42.85 meters, the ninth-best mark in program history.
Ryan Braga followed in 11
th (40.34m), while
Ryan Jameson placed 14
th with a personal-best 33.58 meters.
In the shot put,
Alexander Yeon paced the Blue Jays with an eighth-place finish and a throw of 13.55 meters, ranking ninth in program history. Jameson (16
th, 12.64m) and Braga (17
th, 12.42m) also recorded top-25 finishes.
Carter Chui added a 20
th-place finish in the long jump with a mark of 6.02 meters.
On the track,
Jack Maier led a group of Blue Jays in the 110-meter hurdles, placing 15
th in 15.62.
Tyler Caswell (18
th, 15.90),
Owen Takahashi (20
th, 16.80) and Williams (22
nd, 17.17) also finished in the top 25.
Josh Lee recorded the ninth-fastest time in program history in the 200 meters with a personal-best 22.30.
Samson Dessalines added a personal-best 50.73 in the 400 meters to place 21
st, while
Matteo O'Malley finished 22
nd in the 800 meters.
Hopkins returns to action Thursday, April 23, splitting squads between the Penn Relays, hosted by the University of Pennsylvania, and the Paul Kaiser Classic at Shippensburg University.
