SWARTHMORE, PA – Fifth-ranked Johns Hopkins blanked host and 16
th-ranked Swarthmore, 7-0, on Sunday. The Blue Jays wrap up the regular season with a 12-6 record, while the Garnet slip to 13-6.
The Blue Jays got out a fast start, sweeping the doubles' matches and dropping just four total games.
Ava Li and
Kamila Wong won 6-1 over Lola Diaz and Erin Li at one.
Claire Loftus and
Sahana Madala won by the same score over Hannah Kideckel and Maya Stilling at three. For Loftus, it was her 23
rd win of the season, breaking the Hopkins' record.
Sophia Kim and
Lia Melvin won 6-2 over Riya Rao and Ella Strickler at two.
JHU then swept the singles' matches, winning four of the six in straight sets. Melvin won 6-3, 6-1 over Diaz at one and
Sahana Sanjeev lost just two games in her win over Li at two. Wong battled to a three-set win over Strickler at three and Loftus rallied for a three-set win at four. Madala won her match at five, dropping just one game to Kideckel. And at six,
Isabel He won a tight 7-5, 6-4 match over Uma Pogrebivsky.
Hopkins now awaits a possible bid to the NCAA Tournament, with the 2026 bracket set to be announced on May 4 at 12:00 pm.
