CHATTANOOGA, TN – Lia Melvin finished as the runner-up in the 2026 NCAA Singles Championship Monday morning. She earns All-America honors and ends the season with an 18-11 record in singles. The 18 wins this season are a career high.
 
Melvin, unseeded in the draw, made history this season as the first Blue Jay to advance past the quarterfinals of the NCAA Singles Championship. In the championship match, she faced a tough draw in top-ranked Matia Cristiana. The senior from Babson entered the match with an unblemished 36-0 record. Cristiana prevailed in the match 6-1, 6-1 to win the national title.
