BALTIMORE, MD – Johns Hopkins freshman
Josh Sima has been named the United States Fencing Coaches Association (USFCA) Foil Athlete of the Year it was announced recently. In addition, freshman
Noah Zeng was named the USFCA Sabre Newcomer of the Year.
Sima is the third Blue Jay to earn USFCA Foil Athlete of the Year honors. He earned USFCA All-Region honors after posting a 74-35 record. He led the Foil squad with his 74 wins, which are the sixth most by a freshman in the Foil in JHU history. Sima placed 13
th at the NCAA Regional Championship to wrap up the season.
Zeng becomes the second Blue Jay to be named USFCA Sabre Newcomer of the Year. He was named USFCA All-Region with a 64-22 record and placing 21
st at the NCAA Regional Championship. His 64 wins were second most on the Sabre squad this season and are 10
th most by a freshman in school history.
