Ava Li and
Kamila Wong have been selected to the 2026 NCAA Singles & Doubles Championships it was announced last night. Melvin will compete in the singles championship and Li and Wong will compete in the doubles championship.
The individual championships consist of 32 singles players and 16 doubles teams. The selection of teams and individuals for the championships is based on won-lost record, strength of schedule and eligibility and availability of student-athletes. The team championship will take place May 19-22, with the individual championships following May 23-26. Champions Tennis Club in Chattanooga, TN will host both championships.
This is the third straight year and 12
th time since 2010 that Johns Hopkins has had a player selected to the NCAA Singles Championship. In addition, this is the second straight year and seventh time since 2010 that a Blue Jay doubles team will compete at the championship.
Melvin earns her first bid to the NCAA Championships and is currently ranked 42
nd in the nation. She is 13-9 on the season and is tied for 20
th in JHU history with 37 career singles' wins. Wong earns her third selection to the doubles championship and second with Li. The duo is ranked fifth in the nation and boast a 19-6 record. Wong is second in program history with 69 career doubles' wins while Li is tied for 23
rd with 40 career wins.
