LANCASTER, PA – Following its ninth Centennial Conference Outdoor Championship, the Johns Hopkins men's track & field team earned a number of postseason honors, highlighted by
Caleb Tenney and
Sebastian Tangelson capturing two of the conference's major individual awards. Tenney was named Rookie of the Year, while Tangelson earned Field Athlete of the Year honors.
Bobby Van Allen and his staff were also recognized as the Centennial Conference Coaching Staff of the Year for the second straight season.
Tenney collected Rookie of the Year honors after an outstanding freshman campaign that included a Centennial Conference title in the 1,500 meters. th in Division III and stands as the fastest time by a freshman in the nation this season.
Tangelson earned Field Athlete of the Year recognition after contributing 7.5 points to the Blue Jays' championship effort across three events. The junior posted a personal-best time of 15.64 in the 110-meter hurdles to finish fourth and score five points for Hopkins. He also placed seventh in the high jump with a clearance of 1.73 meters and added another point with an eighth-place finish in the pole vault after clearing 3.65 meters.
