BALTIMORE, MD – Johns Hopkins men's lacrosse coach
Peter Milliman announced the Blue Jays' 2027 schedule today; the 13-game regular-season schedule includes six home games, six away games, one neutral site game and, as always, five consecutive Big Ten games to close the regular-season. Spring competition for the Blue Jays will begin with a scrimmage against Saint Joseph's at Homewood Field on January 30.
Â
Final game times and television schedules will be announced at a later date. Today's announced schedule includes a tentative game date on a specific weekend, but the exact date has not been finalized on that weekend.
Â
After the scrimmage on January 30, the Blue Jays will open the season at home against Drexel (Feb. 6). The game against the Dragons will be just the second between the two teams and the first since 1947.
Â
The game against the Dragons will be the first of five in the month of February for Johns Hopkins, which will follow the opener against Drexel by welcoming Georgetown to Homewood Field (Feb. 13) before the only two-game week of the season with games at Towson (Feb. 16) and Loyola (Feb. 20). A home game against North Carolina on February 27 will close the opening month of the season and ignite a four-game run of games against ACC opponents.
Â
The Blue Jays will renew their series with Duke in Charlotte, North Carolina on March 6 before welcoming Virginia to Homewood Field a week later (Mar. 13) in the annual battle for the Doyle Smith Cup. The Blue Jays will then close their eight-game non-conference schedule at Syracuse on March 20.
Â
Johns Hopkins' eight non-conference opponents posted a combined record of 88-44 (.667) in 2026. Five of the eight advanced to the NCAA Tournament with two advancing to the NCAA Semifinals and two others moving to the quarterfinals.
Â
The Blue Jays' five-game Big Ten run will begin at Michigan on the last weekend in March before the Big Ten home opener a week later against Rutgers (April 3). A road trip to Penn State on the weekend of April 10 will be followed by the final regular season home game of the 2027 season on April 17 against Ohio State; the game against the Buckeyes will be the featured attraction of Homecoming Weekend at Johns Hopkins.
Â
The regular season finale will be played at Maryland on the final weekend of April as the Blue Jays and Terrapins renew the greatest rivalry in college lacrosse for the 130
th time.
Â
Â
Once again in 2027, all six teams in the Big Ten will qualify for the Big Ten Tournament. The top two teams in the final league standing will earn a bye into the semifinals with the teams that finish third through sixth playing quarterfinal games on Saturday, May 1. The number three and four seeds in the tournament will host those quarterfinal games.
Â
Penn State will host the Big Ten Semifinals (May 6) and Championship (May 8). This will be the second time the Penn State has hosted the event (2021).
Â
As they have every year since 2006, all Johns Hopkins home games will air on the ESPN family of networks. While that exact schedule has not been finalized, any games that do not air live on ESPNU will air live on ESPN+; the ESPN+ broadcasts will then air via tape delay on ESPNU (generally within 24 hours).Â
Â
Television schedules for away games will be announced when available. Games not available on television will be streamed live by the host school.
