Baltimore, MD - The Johns Hopkins men's tennis team took five of six singles matches and two of three doubles matches to defeat Muhlenberg, 6-1, Wednesday afternoon in Centennial Conference action.

Junior Kevin Alford (O'Fallon, IL/O'Fallon Township) defeated Brad Scheller 6-3, 6-0 in No. 1 singles, while senior Sion Roy (Chandler, AZ/Brophy College Prep) topped Cameron Parke 6-3, 5-2, ret. in No. 2. Jeff Kraft picked up Muhlenberg's only point with a 6-4, 6-1 decision over sophomore Justin Chan (Mountain Lakes, NJ/Mountain Lakes) in No. 3, and senior Ashish Lall (Buffalo, NY/Nichols) defeated Brian Barkauskas 6-1, 6-2 in No. 4.

Sophomore Grant Roch (Cedarburg, WI/Cedarburg) needed a tiebreaker to get past Mitch Reading 3-6, 6-1 (10-6) at No. 5, and freshman Justin Belisario (Los Angeles, CA/Loyola) won by forfeit at No. 6.

Scheller and Parke defeated Alford and Belisario 8-6 at No. 1 doubles, and Roy and Chan topped Kraft and Barkauskas 8-5 at No. 2. Hopkins won the doubles point because Muhlenberg did not field a No. 3 doubles team.
