Hopkins Men's Tennis Team Sweeps Gettysburg, 7-0

Gettysburg, PA - The Johns Hopkins men's tennis team won all six singles matches and all three doubles matches to shut out Gettysburg, 7-0, Tuesday in the Centennial Conference opener for both teams.

Senior Kevin Alford (O'Fallon, IL/O'Fallon Township) came back to defeat Hans Hardisty 4-6, 6-4 (10-4) at No. 1 singles, while junior Justin Chan (Mountain Lakes, NJ/Mountain Lakes) posted a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Geoff Gamble at No. 2 singles. Sophomore Justin Belisario (Los Angeles, CA/Loyola) won 6-2, 7-5 over Jake Wright at No. 3 singles, while Krisna Potarazu defeated Marc Morris 6-3, 6-1 at No. 4 singles. Junior Grant Roch (Cedarburg, WI/Cedarburg) posted a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Andrew Smith at No. 5 singles, and freshman Michael Kelly-Sell (Ann Arbor, MI/Ann Arbor Pioneer) defeated Foster Post 6-2, 6-3 at No. 6 singles.

Alford and Belisario topped Gamble and Hardisty 8-2 at No. 1 doubles, while Chan and Potarazu defeated Morris and Wright 8-2 at No. 2 doubles. Roch and Kelly-Sell shut out Smith and Post 8-0 at No. 3 doubles.

The Blue Jays return to action Thursday when Hopkins hosts Goucher at 3 p.m. in its home opener.
