BALTIMORE, MD - Behind a complete game from junior right hander Patrick Steffee, the #19 Johns Hopkins baseball team defeated Villa Julie 11-1 on Monday afternoon. The Blue Jays (27-6) won their third straight game as they got a double and home run from senior catcher Rob Sanzillo.

The Blue Jays scored the first four runs of the game on a two-out rally in the bottom of the first inning. With two outs, Sanzillo laced a double to left center and junior center fielder Rob Pietroforte was hit by the pitch. Junior DH Tony Margve then came through with an RBI single to score Sanzillo. Junior first baseman Matt Benchener had an RBI single to score Pietroforte and on a double steal Margve crossed the plate. Senior right fielder Nick Venezia capped the scoring with an RBI single in the inning to score Benchener.

Villa Julie reached Steffee for a run in the third as John Jackson led off with a double and moved to third on a groundout. Jackson would then score the Mustangs' only run of the game on a sacrifice fly from Bryan Chouinard. The Blue Jays answered right back in the bottom half of the inning as senior second baseman Ian Christie's double scored Margve.

Hopkins would add a pair of runs in the sixth, seventh innings of the game. The runs in the sixth came on another two-out rally as junior left fielder Jon Solomon singled and came home on Sanzillo's team leading sixth home run of the year. Venezia and junior third baseman Nate Adelman had back-to-back RBI doubles in the seventh to account for the Blue Jays runs.

The Blue Jays would tally two unearned runs in the bottom of the eighth to make the final score, 11-1.
