GREENWOOD, IN – Lukas Geer, who recently concluded an impressive career with the Johns Hopkins baseball team, has added yet another honor to his impressive list of accolades as he has been named a Second Team College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-American it was announced today.  This is the fourth consecutive year and the sixth time in the last eight years that Johns Hopkins has had at least one baseball player earn Academic All-America honors.
 
Since the team was first selected in 1970, Geer becomes the 37^th Johns Hopkins baseball player to earn Academic All-America honors from CSC.  The 37 selections are the most by any baseball team in the nation at any level and only two other baseball programs, Bucknell (31) and Notre Dame (30), have produced more than 30 all-time Academic All-Americans.
 
A starter in left field for the Blue Jays, Geer graduated in May with a degree in computer science and a 3.55 cumulative grade point average after posting a perfect 4.0 GPA in the spring.
 
A Second Team All-Centennial Conference selection and the NCAA Baltimore Super Regional Most Valuable Player this season, Geer hit .350 with a program single-season-record 79 RBIs and 70 runs scored to go along with 15 home runs and 15 doubles.  He is just the second player in program history with 70 RBIs and 70 runs scored in one season and he led the team in both categories while also ranking third in hits, tied for second in doubles and third in home runs.
 
The 2026 season capped a career that saw Geer play in 115 games with 77 starts.  He finished with a .348 career batting average with 30 doubles, 23 home runs, 130 RBIs and 103 runs scored. 
 
Geer helped the Blue Jays to three trips to the Division III World Series with a national runner-up finish in 2023.  Johns Hopkins won four consecutive Centennial Conference titles and four straight NCAA Regional titles with three Super Regional crowns during Geer's career.
