CARLISLE, PA - The Johns Hopkins baseball team had 17 hits in a 16-2 win over Dickinson in Centennial Conference action. Junior Jesse Sikorski (Syracuse, NY/Christian Brothers Academy) had four base hits, four RBIs and three runs scored for the Blue Jays. With the win, Hopkins improves to 22-3 overall and 9-0 in the Centennial Conference. Dickinson falls to 6-17 overall and 3-7 in the conference.
Stephen Bejsiuk (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) had three singles with four RBIs for the Blue Jays. Matthew Bernardi (Lake Forest, IL/Lake Forest) had two hits and scored three runs. Chris Huisman (Davidsonville, MD/Archbishop Spalding) went 1-for-2 with a triple. Brian Youchak (Pittsburgh, PA/Vincentian Academy) had two hits and two RBIs.
Hopkins starter Alex Eliopoulos (Arlington, VA/The Heights School) earned the win allowing two runs in seven innings pitched. Eliopoulos had seven strikeouts and four walks. Lucas Henneman (Atlanta, GA/Chamblee) pitched two perfect innings in relief.
Andrew Mauro took the loss for Dickinson allowing 13 runs, six earned, on 13 hits. Mauro had two strikeouts and five walks.
Hopkins jumped on the board in the top off the first on a two-RBI single by Sikorski. The Blue Jays added four more runs in the second on a sacrifice fly from Huisman and an RBI single by Youchak.
The Blue Jays added individual runs in the fourth, sixth and seventh inning.
Dickinson finally got on the board in the bottom of the seventh on a two-RBI single by Garrett Horan. Horan had two hits on the day for the Red Devils.
Hopkins scored three runs in each the eighth and nine innings.
The Blue Jays had 17 hits and committed zero errors while the Red Devils had five hits and seven errors.
The Blue Jays return to action tomorrow in a Centennial Conference doubleheader against Franklin & Marshall. First pitch is scheduled for 12:30 pm at the Blue Jay Baseball Diamond.
