BALTIMORE, MD - The Johns Hopkins baseball team allowed eight runs in the third inning and never recovered Monday afternoon as it fell to Catholic, 13-6, at the JHU Baseball Diamond. Hopkins dropped to 5-1, while Catholic moved to 10-2 on the season.

Catholic continued to roll in the third inning after loading the bases on a double, a walk and a hit batsman. The Cards used a total of five hits, coupled with two Blue Jay errors, to take a dominating 11-1 lead.
Hopkins held the early advantage, 1-0, in the bottom of the first when Chris Casey tripled to bring home Chris Wilhelm. The Jays managed to score another run in the third, as Colin McCarthy knocked in Casey with a single. McCarthy was 3-for-3 in the game, while Casey was 2-for-4.
The Jays' Matthew Daum also notched his first career home run with a three-run shot in the bottom of the ninth to make the score 13-6.
