• The Short Story: The 21st-ranked Johns Hopkins men's tennis team remained unbeaten in Centennial Conference play with an 8-1 win over visiting Franklin & Marshall Wednesday afternoon.

How it Happened
• Hopkins took a 2-1 lead into singles play as the Blue Jays grabbed wins at first and second doubles. Junior Justin Kang and senior Emerson Walsh gave Hopkins an early 1-0 lead with an 8-1 win at second over Zack Levin and Will Samuels.
• Freshman Joseph Cartledge and senior Jeremy Dubin pushed the lead to two as they beat Jack Rothman and Inigo Flores, 8-3, at first. Isaac Salas and Andrew Pace picked up a point for the Diplomats with an 8-5 win over junior David Perez and freshman Matt Sklar.
• The Blue Jays then swept the singles matches, all in straight sets, to take the 8-1 win.
• Perez earned a 6-4, 6-3 win over Rothman at first singles. Freshman Cody Kim clinched the win at second with a 6-0, 6-3 defeat of Salas. Freshman Aaron Carey beat Levin 6-1, 6-4 at third.
• Kang dropped just one game in his win over Flores at fourth. Freshman Nathan Safran picked up a 6-4, 6-2 at fifth over Samuels. Sklar won 6-1, 6-3 over Pace at sixth.

What it Means • Hopkins improves to 23-28 all-time against Franklin & Marshall and has won 15 straight in the series.
• Today's win is the 99th Centennial Conference (CC) regular season win for head coach Chuck Willenborg. The Blue Jays are 99-3 (.971) in regular season CC matches in Willenborg's 12 seasons.

For the Record
• Kang earned his 34th career singles win and moved into a tie for 19th in program history.
• Walsh moved into a tie for third in program history with his 75th career doubles win.

• Hopkins travels to Collegeville, PA on Saturday to take on Ursinus. The Centennial Conference match is slated for a 1:00 pm start.
