? The Short Story: The 21st-ranked Johns Hopkins men's tennis team remained unbeaten in Centennial Conference play with a 7-2 win at Ursinus Saturday afternoon.
How it Happened
? Sophomores Nakul Narendran and Colin Muraika put Hopkins on top early with an 8-3 win at first doubles over Max Oberholtzer and Paul Vecchio.
? Freshmen Aaron Carey and Elliot Seckler gave the Blue Jays' a 2-0 lead as they beat Henry Burke and Connor DeFaber-Schumacher, 8-5, at third.
? Chanton Phan and Peter Shields cut into the visitor's lead with an 8-5 win at second over freshmen Austin Gu and Vik Vasan.
? Ursinus grabbed the first point of singles play when Oberholtzer beat Carey 6-4, 6-1 at first to tie the overall match at two. Gu responded with a 6-4, 6-2 defeat of Vecchio at second, putting Hopkins on top for good.
? Vasan followed with a three-set win at third over Phan 6-2, 4-6, 1-0 (8). Narendran then clinched the win as he defeated Burke 6-3, 6-4 at fourth.
? Muraika then beat Shields 6-2, 7-6 (1) at fifth and Seckler closed out the match with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Jordan Hodess at sixth.
