The Short Story: The Johns Hopkins men's swim team opened up a tough weekend of Division I competition in Annapolis Friday afternoon. Hopkins competed against William & Mary, Towson and host Navy in a quad meet.

• "Tonight was a great test of the team's resolve. Facing up to three very good Division I teams was the kind of challenge we seek out. Tomorrow will be a great test of our ability to comeback on a second day against tough competition."

Top Finishers
• Hopkins kicked off the meet with a fourth-place finish in the 200 Medley Relay. Seniors
Emile Kuyl and
Peter Lazorchak, junior
Brandon Fabian and sophomore
Nat Davenport combined for a time of 1:32.59. Freshmen
Dylan Wachenfeld,
Max Chen,
Jeffrey Vitek and
Noah Corbitt finished in seventh place and a time of 1:34.65.
• Senior
Erik Bostrom followed with an 11
th-place finish in the 1000 Free as he touched in 10:05.65.
• Sophomore
Matt McGough then led a quartet of Blue Jays that took 13
th through 16
th place in the 200 Free. McGough finished in 1:45.60, followed by junior
Matthew Garza and sophomores
Noah Frassrand and
Dillon De Priest.
• Wachenfeld then took ninth place in the 100 Back in 53.79, with Fabian touching four-tenths of a second later for 10
th place. Later in the meet, Wachenfeld placed sixth in the 200 Back with a time of 1:54.33.
• The 100 Breast saw Lazorchak clock in at 58.31 to grab eighth place. Vitek followed with a sixth-place finish in the 200 Fly as he finished in 1:53.29.
• Chen would place eighth in the 50 Free with his time of 21.20. Freshman
Collin Hughes and Kuyl then took ninth and 10
th place in the 100 Free in 46.99 and 47.55, respectively.
• Senior
Jasper Van Cauwelaert touched in 2:10.69 to take seventh place in the 200 Breast. The 500 Free saw Corbitt place 10
th in 4:44.05.
• Fabian then grabbed fourth place in the 100 Fly with his time of 50.56. Kuyl followed with a fourth-place finish in the 100 IM in 52.57.
• Hopkins wrapped up the meet with second and seventh-place finishes in the 200 Free Relay. Hughes, Davenport, Chen and Fabian swam a 1:23.89 to place second. Senior
Michael Wohl, McGough, Corbitt and Vitek finished in 1:26.33 for seventh place.

Up Next
• It will be a quick turnaround for the Blue Jays, as Hopkins travels to Lewisburg, PA to take on host Bucknell on Saturday. The meet is scheduled for a 2:00 pm start at Kinney Natatorium. Fans can follow the results here:
