• The Short Story:
Dillon Bowman hit two home runs as the Johns Hopkins Baseball team rallied to defeat Dickinson in game one, 9-7.
How it Happened
• JHU got on the board in the second as
Mike Smith singled to lead off the inning and came around to score on Bowman's first home run of the game.
• The Red Devils got their first hit off
Preston Betz in the fourth with a lead-off single which was followed by a walk. A single and a ground out eventually tied the game at two and Dickinson took a 3-2 lead on a single to center.
• Bowman tied the game at three in the fifth inning as he took a 0-2 pitch over the left-field wall.
• Dickinson regained the lead in the top of the sixth scoring three runs to take a 6-3 lead.

Frank Clara led off the sixth with a home run to left center to make the score 6-4.
Austin Sacks followed with a single to center and advanced to third on a Smith double.
Zach Jaffe then gave the Blue Jays a 7-4 lead as he took a 1-1 pitch over the center field wall.
• Brian Pell led off the seventh for the Red Devils with a home run but
Seamus Ryan-Johnson came in and retired the next three batters to keep Hopkins in the lead, 7-6.

Mike Eberle knocked in
Chris DeGiacomo with a double in the seventh to increase the JHU lead to 8-5.
• JHU added an insurance run in the eighth on a
Tim Kutcher sacrifice fly and
Sean McCracken retired the Red Devils in order in the top of the ninth to give Hopkins game one by a 9-7 score.
Inside the Box Score
• DeGiacomo, Eberle, Smith, Jaffe and Bowman all had two hits in game one. Jaffe and Bowman led the team with three RBI each.
• Betz notched his 100th career strikeout in the first inning as the junior finished the day working five innings with five strikeouts and two walks.

• The Short Story: The Johns Hopkins baseball team hit three home runs in game two as the Blue Jays completed the sweep of Dickinson.
How it Happened
• Dickinson got on the board first scoring an unearned run to take a 1-0 lead.
• JHU responded scoring twice in the bottom of the inning on back-to-back doubles from Sacks and Eberle to make the score 2-1.
• The Red Devils tied the game in the third, scoring on a steal play making the score 2-2.
• Once again the Blue Jays responded with two runs in the bottom of the inning as DeGiacomo led off the inning with a single and scored on an
Alex Darwiche homer to center to put Hopkins up 4-2.
• Jaffe doubled to lead off the fourth and came around to score on a Kutcher sac fly to make the score 5-2. DeGiacomo got in on the home run action as he took the 0-1 pitch over the center field wall to make the score 6-2.
• Bowman tallied his third home run of the day as the sophomore took a 0-1 pitch over the left-center field fence in the sixth to give Johns Hopkins a 7-3 advantage.
• Jaffe and Bowman knocked in runs in the seventh to increase the Blue Jay lead to 9-4.
• Dickinson scored twice in the eighth to make the score 9-4 but JHU held on to complete the sweep.
Inside the Box Score

John Donohue went four innings for his longest outing as a Blue Jay to earn the win. He gave up six hit, two runs and one walk while striking out one.
Jake Griffin completed the final 1.2 innings, giving up no hits with just one walk and one strikeout.
• DeGiacomo, Sacks and Jaffe each had two hits in the second game while Darwiche and Bowman each knocked in two runs.
What it Means
• Hopkins clinches the number two seed in the conference tournament and will host the opening round game on Thursday.
