The Short Story: The Johns Hopkins men's and women's swim team posted a handful of career best times, and a pair of NCAA B cuts, on the second day of the Janis Hape Dowd Nike Invitational Saturday at Duke.

Top Finishers • Women
• Senior
Natalia Rincon was the top Blue Jay in the 100 Fly as she placed third in 56.90.
• Freshman
Sophia Girgenti then led a trio of Jays to place in the top eight in the 200 Free. She swam a 1:54.22 to take fifth place. Sophomore
Carmela Irato followed in sixth place with a career-best 1:54.62 and classmate
Amy Pearson took eighth with a 1:56.42.
• In the 100 Breast, junior
Therese Larson led JHU with a seventh-place finish and a time of 1:10.25. Senior
Phi Nguyen followed in 1:11.03 for eighth place.

• Sophomore
Dillon De Priest grabbed a fourth-place finish in the 100 Fly as he finished in 51.40. His prelim swim of 51.25 was a career best.

Christopher Arena then won the 400 IM as he beat the field to the wall in 3:58.54. Senior
Erik Bostrom followed in third place with a time of 3:59.43. Both Arena and Bostrom's times were NCAA B cuts. Sophomore
Riley Mears swam a 4:04.39 to finish in fourth place.

Mitchell Simmons took eighth place in the 200 Free with a career-best time of 1:41.33.
• Sophomore
Marcelo Lauzurique wrapped up the night with a seventh-place finish and a 56.75 in the 100 Breast.
