Haley Crosson has been named the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week it was announced Tuesday. This is her third career weekly honor from the Big Ten and first this season.
Crosson posted back-to-back double-digit save performances in a 1-1 week for the Blue Jays. She made 12 saves while holding 20
th-ranked Stony Brook below its season average on Tuesday night. She followed that with a career-best 15 saves and just seven goals allowed in the win at Ohio State. Crosson also caused a turnover and picked up two ground balls against the Buckeyes.
Crosson ranks third in the Big Ten in goals against average (10.64) and saves (120). She has posted six double-digit save games this season, including in each of the last three games.
Hopkins returns to action on Friday as the Blue Jays host the Penn State Nittany Lions. The Big Ten contest is slated for a 5:00 pm start at Homewood Field.
