Johns Hopkins Baseball To Host NCAA Regional

BALTIMORE, MD – The Johns Hopkins baseball team will be hosting an NCAA Regional as the 2019 Division III baseball bracket was released today. This is the first season that DIII baseball has used the regional/super regional host format and regional games will be played from Friday, May 17- Sunday, May 19 at the host schools.
 
Joining the Blue Jays in the four-team bracket will be TCNJ, Farmingdale St. and Susquehanna. The format for the bracket is double-elimination with the winner of the regional advancing to the super regional. Tickets will be $4 for youth, adults and senior citizens while children under two are free. Gates will open at 10 am on Friday and Saturday and 11 am on Sunday.

FRIDAY, MAY 17

Game 2 Farmingdale St. vs. Johns Hopkins 65 minutes after the conclusion of GM 1 (but not before 2:30 pm)

SATURDAY, MAY 18

Hopkins enters the tournament with a 30-11 record and won the team's 15 Centennial Conference championship to earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The Blue Jays are making their 23rd appearance in the NCAA Tournament and first since 2017. Farmingdale St. earned the Skyline Conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament with an 8-5 victory over Old Westbury in the conference championship game. The Rams enter the regional with a 32-7 record as they captured the program's eighth Skyline title and are returning to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2014.
 
The Lions enter the tournament with a 31-9 record and captured the NJAC Tournament Championship with a 9-4 victory over Ramapo. TCNJ captured its second championship in the last three years and 10th overall to earn an automatic bid to the tournament. The River Hawks also earned an automatic bid as they won the Landmark Championship for the third time in the last six seasons with an 8-5 win over Moravian. The River Hawks finished the regular season with a 23-16 record.
