Full All-Region Team

Jack Bunting,
Nate Davis and
Chris DeGiacomo of the Johns Hopkins baseball team were named to the ABCA Mid-Atlantic All-Region Teams it was announced recently. Bunting and Davis were named to the first team while DeGiacomo earned second team laurels. Bunting was also named the region's pitcher of the year.
Bunting is the first Blue Jay pitcher to be named the regions pitcher of the year as JHU has had two players be named the region's player of the year (
Ryan Orgielewicz – 2017,
Jonas Fester - 2007). Overall Johns Hopkins has now had 69 players honored by the ABCA with 32 of them being named to the first team. This is the fifth consecutive season JHU has had at least one player earn all-region honors.
Bunting set the JHU single-season win mark as he won his 13
th game on the year in the Blue Jays 6-3 victory over Shenandoah on May 24. The Westfield, NJ native sports a perfect 13-0 record this season and leads Division III in victories. He has a 2.20 ERA with 67 strikeouts this season, both which lead the Blue Jays. The senior captain has also allowed just 10 walks this season and has only allowed more than two walks in a start once this season. He struck out a career-high 11 batters on March 20 against Denison as we went the full nine innings in the Blue Jays' 2-1 victory. He also threw a complete game in the regional round of the NCAA Tournament against Susquehanna which saw JHU come away with a 12-2 win.
Davis, who was recently named a D3baseball.com Third Team All-American, leads the Blue Jays with 16 home runs which is one away from tying the single-season record of 17 and he is tied for third in the nation in long balls. The Ashburn, VA native tallied a career-high four hits on April 9 against McDaniel and has also had two multi-home run games this season. The junior is tied for second on the team with 44 RBIs and ranks third on the team with a .331 batting average so far this season.
DeGiacomo currently ranks second on the team with a .338 batting average as the graduate student has had 11-multi-hit games this season, including a four-hit game on March 26 against Catholic. He leads the team with 47 RBIs and ranks third on the team with 12 home runs. The Norwell, MA native hit two homers on March 30 against Muhlenberg and knocked in a career-high four runs against Cortland on March 3 and again against Washington College on April 16. DeGiacomo earned First Team All-Centennial honors this season and was also named the NCBWA Hitter of the Week.
