Reyes Claims First Conference Crowns
Reyes earned the first Centennial Conference title of his career after finishing third as a freshman and second as a sophomore at 157. Seeded second and ranked ninth nationally, Reyes earned a bye into the semifinals, where he met third-seeded Kieran Duggan of the Merchant Marine Academy. Reyes had topped Duggan, 10-8, during the regular season and again picked up a two-point victory as claimed an 8-6 win in today' semifinal. In the final, Reyes met Washington & Lee's Shane Conners, who had upset top-seeded Dylan Schwartz, in the other semifinal. Reyes had edged Conners, 5-2, just a week ago, but created more separation in this one as he claimed his title with a decisive 9-3 victory.

Four Place Fourth
In addition to Reyes' first-place finish, Johns Hopkins got four fourth-place finishes from sophomore
Bradlee Lamontagne (157), sophomore
Joe Paul (174), senior
Nathan Wertheimer (184) and junior
Hank Behaeghel. Lamontagne, Paul and Wertheimer all went 2-2 on the day, while Behaeghel, who was returning to action for the first time since January 11, went 1-2. Both of Wertheimer's wins came by fall.

The Streak Continues
Reyes' title at 165 pounds extended Johns Hopkins' streak of years with at least one Centennial Conference Champion to 11. Overall, Johns Hopkins has produced 25 Centennial Conference Champions, 18 of which have come in the last 11 years and 22 of which have come under the direction of current head coach
Keith Norris

Fourth Champion at 165
Reyes is the fourth Johns Hopkins wrestler to win the Centennial Conference title at 165 pounds. He joins Jose Gonzalez (2000), Patrick Stanley (2008) and Christian Ostrowski (2013) as JHU's 165-pound champions.
Â
30-30
With his two wins today, Reyes improved his record this season to 30-2. He is just the third wrestler in school history to win 30 or more matches in two or more seasons as he also won 30 as a freshman. He joins Paul Bewak (2012, 2013, 2014, 2015) and
Ricky Cavallo (2018, 2019) on this select list.
