LANCASTER, PA – For the third straight week, the Johns Hopkins Women's Track & Field team has swept the Centennial Conference Player of the Week awards.
Therese Olshanski was named Centennial Conference Track Athlete of the Week while
Annie Gutierrez was named Centennial Conference Field Athlete of the Week for the second straight week.
Olshanski, a two-time Centennial Conference Track Athlete of the Week, won the Steeplechase at the Gettysburg Quad Meet despite competing in the event for the first time. Olshanski completed the event in 11:15.27, winning by nearly 1:45. The senior is currently qualified for NCAA's with the 14
th-best time in Division III.
For Gutierrez, this will be her fifth Centennial Conference Athlete of the Week honor. The senior shattered the Johns Hopkins outdoor pole vault record with a 3.74m mark. Gutierrez matched her overall PR and bested her old outdoor personal best by .21m. The Florida native holds the program record in both the indoor and outdoor pole vaults and her mark currently ranks her fifth nationally.
The Blue Jays will compete at the Centennial Conference Championships in Allentown, PA this weekend.
