ROSEMONT, IL – Johns Hopkins senior attackman Connor DeSimone was named Second Team All-Big Ten on Friday afternoon as the league announced the 2021 All-Big Ten Team and individual player of the year honors.  This is the first time in his career that DeSimone has been named to the All-Big Ten Team.
 
In addition to DeSimone earning All-Big Ten honors, Blue Jay senior Brandon Shure was named to the league's All-Sportsmanship listing.
 
DeSimone currently counts 21 goals and 15 assists for 36 points to his credit in 10 games this season.  All three totals are career highs for DeSimone and his 21 goals, 15 assists and 36 points all lead the team.  After making the move from midfield to attack this season, he has responded with career highs in goals, assists and points and also leads the team in shooting percentage (.438).
 
Entering Saturday's B1G Quarterfinal game at Penn State, DeSimone has career totals of 45 goals and 33 assists for 78 points.  He ranks ninth in the B1G in points per game this season (3.6) and has registered three or more points in seven of JHU's 10 games on the year.

Shure has played in eight of Johns Hopkins' 10 games this season and has four ground balls and one caused turnover to his credit.  He has alternated time between long stick middie and short stick defensive middie.
 
Johns Hopkins will travel to Penn State for one of two Big Ten Quarterfinal game scheduled for Saturday, May.  Faceoff at Penn State's Panzer Stadium is set for 6 pm and the game will air live on BTN.  The winner of the Johns Hopkins-Penn State game will take on Rutgers in the B1G Semifinals on Thursday, May 6 (7:30 pm).
