Joshi Selected to CoSIDA Academic All-District Team

BALTIMORE, MD – Johns Hopkins men's tennis senior Vishnu Joshi has been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team for the second straight year it was announced today. The CoSIDA Academic All-District Team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletic competition and in the classroom.
 
To be eligible for CoSIDA Academic All-District honors, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.30 cumulative GPA, be a sophomore or above and a starter or significant reserve. Joshi will advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot with the Academic All-America Teams set to be announced August 4. The At-Large Program includes athletes from the following sports: fencing, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming, tennis, volleyball, water polo and wrestling.
 
Joshi graduated in May with degrees in computer science and computer engineering and a 3.90 cumulative GPA. He is currently pursuing a master's degree in computer science and this fall will be a software development intern at Tesla. Joshi earned Third Team CoSIDA Academic All-America honors last season. He is a three-time ITA All-American in singles and was named the 2021 Centennial Conference (CC) Player of the Year. He also earned First Team All-CC honors in singles and doubles this season.
 
Joshi is a three-time NCAA Singles Championship selection and advanced to the quarterfinals in 2021. He finished the season ranked fourth in the nation and first in the Atlantic South with a 12-1 record. In addition, he went 10-2 in doubles this season. Joshi ranks 15th in school history in career singles wins (44), 24th in doubles (41) and 18th in total wins (85). He led Hopkins to three CC Championships as well as three NCAA Tournaments, including the 2021 semifinals.
 
Joshi is currently a software development engineer intern for Amazon and previously interned with Capital One, NTT Data Services and DecisivEdge LLC. He also worked as a reinforcement learning investigator for LEAPS Lab at Johns Hopkins and was a backend developer for a JHU Engineering Design Day startup.
