Xander LeFevre has been named the Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in the Blue Jays' 1-0 win over 21
st-ranked Mary Washington.
LeFevre backstopped Hopkins to a 1-0 win over Mary Washington on Saturday night at Homewood Field. He finished with eight saves to earn the shutout in a game that JHU played a man-down for more than 50 minutes. All eight of his saves came after the Blue Jays were down a man and seven of those came in the second half.
LeFevre has played every minute in goal this season and boasts a 0.31 goals against average and .933 save percentage with a pair of shutouts. This is his fourth career CC Defensive Player of the Week honor and first this season.
Hopkins returns to action on Wednesday, September 15 at Stevenson. The non-conference contest is slated for a 4:00 pm start.
