BALTIMORE, MD – Abby Birk has been named the Centennial Conference Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Week. The senior midfielder led the Blue Jays (6-0) to a 2-0 week with wins over ninth-ranked Salisbury and Christopher Newport.
 
Birk scored off a penalty corner in Wednesdays' win over Salisbury at Homewood Field. It is the Blue Jays' first win over the Sea Gulls since 2008. She then scored the game's first goal, also off a corner, in Hopkins 4-3 win over Christopher Newport. Birk leads the Blue Jays in points (8) and goals (3) and is tied for second in assists (2).
 
Hopkins returns to action on Wednesday, September 22 as the Blue Jays travel to Ashland, VA to take on Randolph-Macon.
