Competing at the BU Invitational, the Blue Jay trio of
Arthur Beyer,
Matthew Kleiman and
Daniel Chen was outstanding, all grabbing top-10 mile times in DIII this year. Beyer broke the program record, finishing the race at 4:08.71 just barely edging out Kleiman at 4:08.72. Chen finished shortly after, finishing in 4:09.94. Beyer sits third nationally at the moment while Kleiman grabs fourth-place. Chen would currently place eighth nationally and his time is the fourth-best in program history.
Not the only record to be broken, Gavin McElhennon broke the Blue Jay record in the 3,000, running past
Jared Pangallozzi's mark of 8:24.31. McElhennon finished the race in 8:20.48, good for ninth-fastest in DIII.
Other Meet Highlights
- In Boston, Ahmed Elmogi ran the second-fastest 200m time in program history, burning down the track to finish in 22.28 seconds. Elmogi's time would place him 22nd nationally and is behind Quinlan Amos' program record (22.21) set back in 2005.
- Also in Boston, Charlie Teeter posted a top-10 time in program history in the 3,000, finishing in 8:28.14. Teeter moves into the top-30 nationally.
- At the SU Invitational, Conrad Say ran the 60m dash in 6.98 seconds, tying for fourth in program history. He matches teammate Justin Canedy's career-best time while the aforementioned Amos' program record of 6.95 set back in 2003 remains safe for the time being.
- Justin Canedy placed second in the men's high jump with a 1.94m leap. His season-best mark of 2.04 still remains in NCAA qualification range. Canedy also won the long jump with a 7.01m leap. Canedy currently sits in a tie for 16th nationally with his season-best mark of 7.10m.
