The Short Story: Host Haverford took a 2-1 lead after doubles and then split the singles matches to upset 12
th-ranked Johns Hopkins Saturday afternoon in both teams' Centennial Conference opener.

How it Happened
• Sophomore
Rohan Reddy and freshman
Marco Azar grabbed the first point of the match with an 8-2 win over Patrick Kley and Jason Edmonds at second doubles. George Jiang and Stefan Johnson then tied the match when they beat graduate student
Vishnu Joshi and sophomore
Thomas Yu, 8-4, at first. Jackson Trevor and James McKenzie gave the Fords a 2-1 lead with a close 8-6 win over senior
Ryan Hellinger and junior
Alexander Kernagis at third.
• Abhinav Nallapareddy pushed Haveford's lead to 3-1 with a 6-1, 6-3 win over sophomore
Nick Charanjiva at sixth singles. Yu pulled Hopkins back within one when he beat Jiang 6-1, 6-2 at first.
• Senior
Brian Wang then beat Johnson 7-6 (7), 6-2 at fourth to tie the match at 3-3. Azar grabbed the lead for the Blue Jays with a 6-3, 6-2 win over McKenzie at fifth.
• Danny Loder answered with a come-from-behind 2-6, 6-1, 7-6 (6) win over junior
Andrew Tran at third. Andreas Wingert then secured the win for the Fords with a come-back win of his own. He beat Reddy 3-6, 7-5, 6-3 at second.

What it Means
• Hopkins suffers its first loss of the season, snapping its season-opening seven-match win streak.
• The loss also snaps the Blue Jays' Centennial Conference regular season win streak at 41. JHU last conference regular season loss also came on April 2, on the road, and by a 5-4 score (at #24 Swarthmore, 2016).
